Biography

2020年 筑波大学大学院システム情報工学研究科博士後期課程修了.博士(工学).2020年 ソニー株式会社 インタラクションデザイナー,2021年 株式会社ソニーコンピュータサイエンス研究所 非常勤研究員を経て,2022年より筑波大学システム情報系 助教.サイバニクス研究センター,未来社会工学開発研究センター(F-MIRAI) 研究担当者.2025年よりCYBERDYNE株式会社アドバイザー.人・ロボット・情報系の融合複合新領域「サイバニクス」を開拓し,神経・筋難病患者の機能再生と自立支援を可能とする装着型サイボーグHALやサイバニクス空間等の研究に従事.
Akira Uehara received a PhD degree in Engineering from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 2020. He was an interaction designer at Sony Corporation and an adjunct researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. He is currently an assistant professor of Institute of Systems and Information Engineering, the University of Tsukuba. In this role, he is actively involved in research at the Center for Cybernics Research and R&D Center for Frontiers of MIRAI in Policy and Technology (F-MIRAI), and CYBERDYNE inc., where he focuses on pioneering the interdisciplinary field of cybernics. He focuses on cybernics technologies such as wearable cyborg HAL and cybernics space to facilitate functional improvement and independence living support for patients with neurodegenerative or neuromuscular diseases.
